The best place for seafood I know of is Cedar Key, about 200 miles from here, out in the Gulf of Mexico. Cedar Key is a quiet little place to get away from the 20th century. You can walk all over the quaint little island village or ride your bike and leave it unlocked anywhere. You must try the island specialty, hearts of palm salad with frozen dressing, the scallops farmed in the waters there. There are some real characters on the island, lots of nature, an odd graveyard where some graves are marked out with seashells, and nothing much to do, except eat, maybe buy scallops at the bookstore, and unwind. There are some cheap motels, some really nice condos, and no fast food chain restaurants. Nourish body & soul!
